If you have a website already, chances are you've set up a contact form to offer the ability for your prospective clients to write to you in the most convenient way - by filling out a web-form.
With Lawmatics Custom Forms you can recreate any form you may already have. The users of this form will enter their data straight into Lawmatics, where you can then start a customer journey, trigger automations, setup meetings, have a colleague reach out to them, etc. Using Lawmatics Custom Forms opens up a whole new world of possibilities!
Let's consider a simple form most lawyers have on their contact page, consisting of the following fields: first and last name, an email address, a phone number and a field for a message.
Building the form
Changing appearance of the form
For this example, let's consider a custom form that has been created, containing all the fields mentioned above, named
Contact Form . On the custom forms main screen select the
••• icon on the right side of the row to expose all the available options.
Embedded option will take us to the settings screen where we have the ability to change quite a lot of aspects on how our form should look like. You can adjust label, field, and background colors, size of text, submit button and success message which will be displayed upon a successful submission.
Let's adjust the submission button's text and color. All we need to do is locate the
Submit Button section on the left panel and update the text, select a background and a border color then click
Save Styles and we're done!
Adding the form to the website
We have the form, made our adjustments, now it's time to place it on our website!
The easiest way to add a Lawmatics Custom Form to any site is by using an embedded form snippet that we can copy from the application and paste it anywhere on a site.
To get an embedded form code snippet, simply go back to the Custom Forms main screen, locate your form and select the
••• on the right side and click on the
Simply click the
Copy button and the snippet will be ready to paste onto your website's backend.
In Wordpress for example, simply paste the snippet while the
Text mode is selected in the editor.
The form is designed to fill up the space available, however in many instances it can show up cut off, with a scrollbar on the right. To solve this, simply wrap the snippet code in a P tag like so:
<p style="height:500px;"> ••• </p> and adjust the height to your needs.
If all goes well you should see your custom form on the page after publishing. Keep in mind, you can still alter the colors and text sizes by changing it in the Lawmatics app under the
Embedded style editor and changes will apply to the embedded form on your website.
Another way of adding your form to your website is by using the Lawmatics API, where you have complete control of how you want your form to behave and get styled — however, because of the advanced nature of it, you might need a web developer to properly implement it on your website.
