Two-Way Text Messaging

Updated this week

Texting can be a great way to keep in touch with your clients. With Lawmatics' two-way texting solution you can easily send one-off personalized messages to any of your matters, and manage any on-going text message threads.

All Lawmatics accounts include two-way texting for a limited number of segments. If you would like to upgrade the Tier your account is on, email your Account Manager or the Customer Success team at [email protected]

From a matter page, you will see a button labeled SMS Chat added to each of your matters.

Click this button to open up the texting history with this particular matter. You can also send a message by typing it in the box at the bottom of the image below, and click Send Message.

Any texts sent from an automation will also show up in the chat window shown above, so that you can view the full communication history.

Your text recipients can opt out of text messaging from your firm at any time by simply replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, or CANCEL. If they change their mind, they can resume text communication once more by texting START, YES, or UNSTOP in the same text thread.

We still suggest turning on your notifications, in Settings > Notifications, for SMS Received, so that you will receive a notification when a matter replies to one of your texts. The notification email will contain a link to their matter, making it easy to click that link, and come right to the SMS Chat for that matter and send them a reply.

FAQ's

How do I activate the two-way text add on for my account?

Email our support team at [email protected] and let us know that you would like to use the two-way texting feature.

What phone number will my text messages be sent from?

The system uses a randomly generated phone number, with an area code of your choosing, for all of your firm's text messages. This phone number stays the same with each text message, making it easy for a client to save that phone number into their contacts. You can have additional phone numbers for a monthly fee.

Will I be notified if someone unsubscribes from my text messages?

No, you will not be notified if someone unsubscribes to your text messages. You will be able to see their last message ("stop," etc.) in the message thread.
