Track Matters' Time in Pipeline Stages
Overview
As your leads and matters progress through various pipelines, you may find it useful to track how long a matter remains in a particular stage. Lawmatics allows you to do this easily by enabling the "Track Time in Stage" feature.
Enabling Time in Stage Tracking
To activate this feature:
- Navigate to Settings from the left-side navigation bar.
- Select Pipelines.
- Click the edit pencil for an existing stage or create a new one.
- Toggle on "Track Time in Stage".
Once enabled, Lawmatics will automatically log the amount of time each matter spends in that stage. This feature is particularly useful for identifying bottlenecks in your firm's process.

Accessing Time in Stage Data
1. Matter Profile View
- Navigate to a matter's profile.
- Click the "Show Details" button located underneath the pipeline diagram.
- View the time in stage information for that matter.
Note: Only stages where "Track Time in Stage" has been enabled will display this data. Ensure you toggle this option for each stage you wish to track.
2. Custom Reports
- When creating a custom report, the Time in Stage fields are available as columns and filters.
- Use this data to gain insights into your firm’s pipeline efficiency.
3. Automations
- Automate workflows based on time in stage conditions.
- Example: If a matter has been in the "Retainer Sent" stage for more than 24 hours, an automation can trigger a task notification to remind you to follow up.
By leveraging this feature, your firm can streamline operations, reduce delays, and increase conversions with informed decision-making.
